Not only hello, but Happy New Year to everyone! Here's hoping that everyone had a safe and enjoyable New Year. Now that it's all over, it's time to get back into our normal routines again. For us at Emmanuel, it means that we are getting ready to have our annual congregational meeting for the last year's business.

For those of you who have never heard of or even been to a congregational meeting, it shows the congregation just how the church has been running the past year. Finances and reports on what we use money for are explained to all present. There are also reports on how our music department works, and the outreaching it did during the year of 1991. All past committees will report on their meetings, and their vast successes they have had. All the different business aspects that you probably never knew went on behind the scenes to keep the church operable.

During this time, we will be electing new officers to the church board of directors. There will be four positions needing filled, and any member in good standing, who attends regularly, and has been a member for a minimum of six months, are eligible to run for these positions. If you wish to be in the running for any of these positions, you must stop by the church and fill out an application. For any of our members who have been absent from church during the holidays, you need to get in contact with the church board so that you can be made aware of who's running for these positions, so that you will know when

annual auction our church has every year. Within the next few weeks, we will be sending out fliers with the date and times the auction will run from. Usually, our auction runs on a Saturday, and goes form early afternoon until late in the evening. The more donations we have to auction off, the longer it can take to get through everything. The Chorus sends a warm thank you to everyone who braved the storm to attend out "Joy to the World" concert in December. We hope the many hours of hard work paid off to make it an enjoyable evening for you. Thanks to all who participated in whatever way you were able. The Chorus would never be able to do it alone. For those who were unable to make this concert, we hope to see you at our Invitational Concert.

In addition to the Holiday Concert, members of the Chorus performed at the Health Issues Taskforce Christmas Party on December 19. The Chorus has participated in this event for several years, and we thank the organizers for thinking of us again. We wish HIT a successful and productive year for 1992.

As always, even though we are busying ourselves for these events, our church is still opened up at 10:30 a.m. on Sundays for services that begin at 11:00 a.m. We are still open on Wednesdays, from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m., for a time of prayer and talking with our staff for anyone who may need a "safe space" for any reason. These humpday times of prayer have been an uplifting experience for many in our community, getting them through the rest of the week. The Invitational Concert, "Love, Laughter, and Delight: A Celebration of American Music,' is on schedule for March 14; see our ad in this issue for complete details. The Chorus has invited the Columbus Gay Men's Chorus, the Cincinnati Men's Chorus, and the Great Lakes Men's Chorus from Detroit to participate. This is the first time we are arrang-

ing this type of event and are looking for

anyone who is willing to help. We need to house many of the members who are visit-

ing and would appreciate volunteers from

the community. Please call our information line at 473-8919 to talk to someone about assisting us in this endeavor. It is an opportunity to make friends, and show what Cleveland hospitality is all about.

To those who are interested in performing or working with the Chorus, our rehearsal schedule for the spring concert season started Sunday, January 12. Rehearsal begins each Sunday at 7:30 p.m. We ask that new members arrive by 7:15 for orientation. Questions may be answered by calling our information line. As always, the Chorus welcomes the

lounge, we invite you in on Wednesdays for spiritual feeding.

Another activity in the planning stages now, is a Bible study class. As soon as we can get a definite date and time, along with what is required of anyone wishing to partake in the class, we will have detailed information for you in our newsletter.

If you need the church for any of these reasons, or any others to help you in your personal lives, call us, at 651-0129, and we will do anything we can as a church body to help you.

Well, come on down to the Lesbian Gay Community Services Center on the first and third Sundays of every month and join in the fun with some non-serious game players. The time is from 7:00 p.m to 10:00 p.m. Bring munchies to share if you can, and a donation to the Center is requested, but not required.
